Hello family and friends, this has proved to be quite a month and August will be even busier. I just got home from a week in Utah helping Marissa with wedding plans and buying a new car. Her Escape was hit and totalled, so we had to brave the car dealers to find a new car. Luckily Chad had done all the work and we ended up with a Hyundai Sonata, very nice car. Marissa has already done so much for the wedding. I really just had to find a dress and invitation addresses and of course play tennis with Marissa. Both Chris and Marissa are working so hard and this weekend are in Las Vegas for a family reunion with his family, a much needed break. Thank you Grandma Janice and Gaylynn for your hospitality. Miss Claire Martin was born to Curt and Julie on July 16th. She is our second granddaughter, both are absolutely beautiful little girls. I go to Houston on Tuesday for a visit. I am home six days then off to Utah for the wedding. What a whirlwind summer. Thanks to all our family for all your love and support through our exciting and trying times we've had. ONE BUSY SUMMER

Wow we are having one busy summer. Last weekend Chris, Rylie, Merrick, Chad and Sue and the Elwell family went to Palmyra New york to see the pagent and visit the church sites, temple,sacred grove etc. We all went to Niagra Falls. What a beautiful place.We rode a boat that got us soaking wet and climbed up the mountain to get soaked again. Yes, I stayed down lower to take pictures.My camera is always around my neck. We ate at Hard Rock Cafe that night. The next morning the men went back to the sacred grove and went to church. We even saw our good freinds the Dougherty's which was fun. During down time chad schooled us on tennis. During the weekend there was alot of shopping and tennis. Two days before we left Curt and Julies daughter Claire was born. She was a week early and weighed in at 6lbs9oz and 19 inches long. She has a full head of dark hair and is very beautiful. We go to Houston to meet her in 2 weeks .Sue is on her way tomorrow to help Marissa with her bridal stuff. Can't wait to see her dress and help her with what she needs We have lots of frequent flyer miles so lets fly.

MARTIN MADNESS POST #1

This is my first blog ever so friends and family bare with me. This blog is meant to tell you whats going on in oour life this summer. Curt and Julie live in Houston where Curt is in Dental School. His wife Julie is almost 9 months pregnant and due in less than 3 weeks with baby Claire. They are so excited and Claire can't come soon enough since Houston has been 1oo degrees or over every day this month. Chad and I go to Houston to meet Claire August 4th.Marissa graduated with her Masters in Social Work in May and got a great job at an adoption agency in Orem. Two weeks ago she got engaged to Chris Coates who is a graphic designer. They will be married in the Salt Lake Temple September 11th with a reception at Millenial Falls in Sandy. We couldn't be happier. Chris and Rylie live in Lansing, Michigan where Chris is in his last year of law school. Rylie is pregnant with baby #2, Arista Miracle. There first baby Preslie was born into heaven October 22, 2008. She will always be our first grandchild and was so beautiful. Chris and Rylie are truly special people. Chad and I and our kids are awesome tennis players and Chad and I play each day.We are Utah Ute fanatics with a basement named the Utetorium. We had a flag outside that was taken so now our new one is inside. Any Utah memorabilia is now guarded with care. On Saturdays, the big screen is filled with friends watching football games. That gives you an idea of what our lives are like. We also love visitors so you know where to come. Love Chad and Sue
